A twitter afternoon

Well, finally done it, spent nearly two hours on twitter. Can hardly believe it. Every time I went to log out ex number of more tweets came up and I couldn't resist. Some really funny, too. Had me re-tweeting and favouriting and replying all over the place. Hmm, doesn't take much to make me happy then. A large HELLO to all my friends and followers on twitter too. @toarshstories

Yesterday no show!

Yes, I am extremely embarrassed not to have put a post up yesterday. But - not my fault! Whatever happened to my net connection I do not know, it is working today but would not let me into computer at all yesterday. Hope it was a one off. So, yesterday was a no go. I paid a visit to my mum, and she cheerfully waffled on making no sense once she had woken from her nap. I am wondering if she even knows what time of day it is, never mind what day. But she is happy enough and well cared for so I am happy at that. Anyone else watch Masterchef? I groan every time JSP makes a good dish and laugh like mad when they all make booboos. I should laugh - I cant boil an egg without letting the pan run dry, honestly.

Well, at a month in I have finally got round to understanding the stats on here. Boy, what an eye-opener they were too! what to waffle on about

What to waffle on about indeed, having one of those days. Nothing new there lol Just had a good little conversation on Twitter, moaned about current world affairs, thought up some more story but not got any notes written (bad, bad girl, slaps own wrist). Even done a bit of plugging on Kindle and CreateSpace. Darn Kindle wants updated tax info - tax??? on what??? earnings paltry to start with lol. Still I am ever hopeful that the plugs and blogs and tweets will result in a few sales by Xmas. That's a big hint folks. If I dont start Xmas orders/shopping by mid September I run out of money mid December or can't get what I wanted because everyone else has beaten me to it. Thankfully the days of near fighting for the latest toys are long past. And I can even walk down the confectionary aisle without near drooling. I also make a mean fruit cake and biscuits that wont send the blood sugars through the roof. My hubbie has just looked at this and run for the hills .....

Monday, Monday

Ah, the muse has woken up again and is now bombarding me with thoughts for three seperate stories in various stages of writing! Now frantically writing notes for all three before deciding which one is pestering me the most. It seems to be the third instalment of the Magical Wall, so will head that way. Once the ideas come, this is the easiest to write lol. I just need a list of Elvish names - oh boy do I have a task choosing from lists on net that kids could pronounce easily enough! Nice to be home again

The break was too short, as usual, but better than nothing. Got to see the inside of the Mersey Tunnel as well as visit the museum again. Wished the hotel would stop playing Beatles songs after the first hour lol Met brothr-in-law again, that was a good chat over two evenings. And finally found a bar with loos on the level that served my hubby's favourite beer cold not tepid. I even managed to bring some money home! I was right about the junk mail though - 37 hits over 4 days, and all but 5 were actual junk. Still no bolt from the blue re my books though, sigh. This will still not detract from the writing, even if I have a VERY select audience. Thank you my few followers/friends/fans. You are all appreciated more than you know. Oh yeah, the weather stayed fine for once. It is now WET outside again. Its nice to be home again and dry inside.

sombre Saturday

Looks like the weather people got it right - dark and dismal, each cloud greyer than the last. No rain yet, but just feels clammy looking out of the window. Not a good background for positive vibes. Is this going to 'dampen' my Saturday night out? Never! As long as I get to pub or club dry, that will do - I can put up with getting drenched on the way home and sing in the rain even. Sorry neighbours. They are a forgiving lot. On a brighter note, my canine friend from the USA is celebrating two years of blogging. Congrats bongodogblog.com. Hope I will still be here in two years ... And lastly - panic packing day tomorrow so no blog. Will be back next Friday or Saturday. Holidays are no go areas for Net use. Hope I dont have to trawl through umpteen spam mails on return.

Frazzle Friday

Its Friday Friday Friday, going on holiday holiday holiday on Monday Monday Monday - where did you put the suitcase? It went WHERE? The BIN? OK, yes I noted the sides were coming apart (inside structure that is) but the case itself ..... So now what do we use? That holdall?! NO WAY ... YOU may do with a change of shirt/pants - I absolutely NEED a change a day. Fine, I will carry my own small case then. Who am I kidding?!!! I will carry the peripherals, honest, promise promise promise. Geez, how we ever managed with a case each for a whole fortnight I cannot fathom. This four or five day lark is bad enough. And no, I will not empty it again tomorrow, or the day after, I already know what I want to take. Yes, ALL of that pile! Not falling foul of if I dont bring it I will need it again. It is always wise to take at least one spare tee. Note I didn't say shoes, please.

Ramblings

Twitter followers now passed the 60 mark, crawling up nicely. Hope everyone is at least browsing the author page. Had to laugh at wonderful fellow author retweeting book - got urls mixed up - but as pointed out, both stories are excellent reads so no harm done is there. I just wish someone has read and even thought about buying, and would let me know. I am going to buy a good handful of books for stocking fillers and hope some of mine find there way into others stockings as well. Wishful thinking, huh? we can all dream. Dreams are excellent places for story ideas as any writer already knows. Keep on dreaming/trucking/writing.

Your favourite author?

I will admit to having several, most of whom have inspired my writings. Jean M Auel, Terry Goodkind, Diana Gabaldon, not to forget the wonderful JRR Tolkien. I also like a bit of Stephen King and Dean Koontz. What a mix that lot is! So if you were ever wondering what on Earth possessed me to write what I have, now you know. I am not insane. Just slightly paranoid perhaps. It takes all kinds to make this world, I am just one of the old odd balls lol

Holiday confirmed

Phew, I was getting worried having booked 'holiday' - all four days of it - via web with no paperwork to show driver/courier. Now we can tell brother in law we are headed his way. Dare I look at the weather forecast? Best not I think, don't want to put a damper on things earlier than necessary lol. Anyway if it is wet, will see the city from the inside of the local and take a few crosswords to peruse. A change of scenery is as good as a rest, at least I will have motivation to get up much earlier than normal.

Last day of the cricket

At last, the cricket is nearly over. The hype has been formidable. To one such as me who cannot understand the game and gets bored more than quickly with it, it is a relief. Apologies to those who are cricket fans. Now, the alternative, athletics coverage, there is something worth watching! Even if our athletes were not performing so well I would still be proud of them.

OK, still Monday, still have your attention. Hope you have visited my author page ..... cos ..... I am still unsure what 'category' or 'genre' Tales From Another Reality should be labelled and or marketted under. Fiction, duh ..... Alternate universe, yes Prehistorical? Spiritual? Young adult? Some of it is a little on the cusp of adult stuff imo Any other ideas? Asking, cos it is fairly obvious to me that I ain't getting the audience I am looking for. Fine, tell me the Tales suck - but there are more than a few who loved them so I won't believe I suck totally lol. Hope someone somewhere out there can point me in the right/another direction. THANKS. If you have trawled through this and the rest of the blog - you are AWESOME, I truly thank you.

wow, what on Earth moved me?????

Above title says it all. I am a couch potato. I don't do housework, unless I cannot move around the clutter. So today I miraculously not only washed two days worth of dishes, I cleaned the sink and bowl and then proceeded to clean the much overdue bath job. It is still not perfect, but worst is gone. Phew. Half an hour solid labour. Unknown for me lol Hope hubbie is impressed when he gets in from his daily jaunt on buses. I am. Don't know what hit me!

Its Monday again

Ah, Monday, no longer hated since retirement lol. Time for a weekly plug as well. Yay, space station visible from this region this week. Only problems - cloudy skies and lack of compass direction! Well, am going to give it a try at least if the cloud disperses. Yes, I have spotted it before - tiny little sputnick like a UFO rushing from right to left, very shiny too. Even my myopic sight could see it well enough.

Don't you just love Fridays

Ah, Friday at last. Though I don't work any more, I still think of Friday as escape to the weekend day. Never mind the crunchies (I can't eat them anymore, too much sugar), but what about that monthly curry? Get me in the mood for boozy Saturday lol. Happy weekend everyone!

down day

It had to happen, again, another early morning trip to the bathroom and an unexpected surprise, followed by more every hour. What the heck did I eat to cause that?! probably the noddles, but I dont know. Good excuse to go on the liquid diet today, even though my thoughts are as pessamistic as they will ever get. Too down to even try some more of the horror tale. Roll on bedtime. Keeping everything crosssed I wont wake up every hour again .....

printer working

The printer is now working - having had not one but two new cartridges installed. Viewer showed plenty of ink in, but nothing printed. Getting darn expensive now, hope I get more than a few pages worth before renewing again. Son is now to be banned from printing as well as Net use lol.

Memo to self ...

Memo to me - quit Twitter right now, you need to be thinking, creating, writing, not tweeting. Get motivated! Now! But it is so much fun says the little voice that I should really ignore. The voice of my muse seems to have gone on holiday like the schools. Ce la Vie.

Give it a go

Followers (nice friends) have suggestd I send in a short story to a publication. Well, they have convinced me to try it. Trouble is the printer wont obey commands and I am out of ink it seems. Ho hum.

New Who

Well, finally announced. The front runner no less, Peter Capaldi. I am glad to see an older Who selected (not that 55 is old lol). Has some mighty big shoes to fill. Good grief, how did I get his age THAT wrong! Looking good for it. This self confessed Whovian is going to be a nervous wreck before November arrives. I can hardly remember where the series left off already - oh, yes - the Graveyard and John Hurt says he is the Doctor! Ah, wishing I had a vid or dvd handy .....
