Sorry for having seemingly dropped off the face of the Earth. Broken arm has got in the way of every corner of my life for the past two months. Now I am feeling okay with typinga lttle at last. I am being told not to overdo it, of course. Next x-ray is on 9th April to see how it is healing. I am doing daily exercises which are a pain or not, there are alternate up and down days.
I am now wishing my muse would wake up.
Woes aside - Thorn's Tale and Gentle The Cruel Path are now up with brand new cover artwork, thank you my friend Lauren Brown. She is a wizz. Look out for the lot on Amazon please. Make my day and buy something!

A small story for you, comments appreciated
Puff was a puny dragon, even for his age. He should have grown into his wings at least two decades ago, but no, they were still rather stunted and would not support him in flight. Puff was named so not because of his puniness, but for the simple fact that was all he could do - puff. No flame at all. Never mind the dragon family shunned him as a total failure, that was what he saw himself as.
This frame of mind had saved him many a trouble as the others had long since given up trying to provoke him, it was no fun when he sadly agreed at the vicious barbs and turned his back disconsolately. Only his elder brother, Blaze, had any time for him. He at least had never tormented his puny little sibling; as a noble minded dragon he knew it was his duty to help.
So it was that fateful day that saw both Blaze and Puff wallowing in the hot pool by the smoking mountain that was their home, that Blaze looked at Puff's back and then looked again more sharply. Puff stood up as he noticed.
"I know my wings are not what they should be, Blaze, but please don't rub it in like the others."
Blaze shook his head violently. "No, no, Puff! You know I would never make fun of you."
"Then why the double take? they haven't grown any more."
Blaze belched a ring of smoke as he laughed. "There you are wrong, my young sibling, very wrong! Still not much bigger, but at least two more points from the last time I noticed!"
Puff stood still. The wings still felt small, but he tentatively reached round to where he thought the tips should be. Blaze was right! Two whole new points, and well on the way to a third! They were growing!
He flexed his chest muscles and was rewarded as the wings actually rose into a flight position. They were still not quite big enough to take him off his feet, but he was elated and Blaze clapped merrily with him. He puffed himself up and blew as he knew the others did to make flame. Nothing. He was totally deflated again. Blaze patted his shoulder.
"The wings are coming on, the flame will surely come. Come on, we can let ma know at least."
Word spread quickly and most nodded sagely that the runt seemed to be growing up at last.
Another few years on, Puff was now flying. Not very far nor very fast - he could not keep up with the main family - but he was happy enough.
Then came the day of the big battle. Other dragons were invading their territory. this could not be allowed. The whole family took off as one to the fight, leaving Puff with the old and young. He was still not considered good enough to join the fight.
Puff strode backwards and forwards. This time the snub had angered him for once, and he muttered and belched and blew clouds of steam - but still no flame, which angered him all the more.
Half a dozen green coloured dragons swaggered into view - the enemy! Puff drew himself up as he shooed the rest well behind him.
The howls of derision made something snap inside him, and he felt himself shaking, building up something he had never felt before. He burst into dark red flame, flickering around him but not burning. The sight was mesmerizing as he strode forward, taking a deep breath. No flame came from his mouth as it should have, but the flame around him formed a brilliant lash that leapt forward of its own volition and seared the enemy.
There were more howls behind them, and Blaze led the fighters at the rear. The one enemy that ran towards Puff was caught by another small whiplash of barbed heat and crumpled, both burnt and crushed.
The fighters looked amazed at Puff, who merely smiled back and shrugged.
He had found his flame - but what a flame!
Blaze spoke first. "Can you teach us that, Puff?"
Puff shook his head. "No, brother, no more can you teach me your more normal flame I think. I shall be honoured to remain Puff, the small guardian, if I may; but beware of making me truly angry now, all of you."
Blaze grinned. "See, everyone? I told you he was grown at last! Now Puff the Puny is dead, long live Puff the Protector!"

First one of a New Year
Wpw, 6th Jan already, the year is skimming past too fast .....
QUOTE from another site I have stories on:
"Home Spirit's stories are an Alt-Universe of Neanderthal and Others who come together in separate stories, but are all connected. Misty Spirit (Travelling), Gentle Spirit, Thorn, Kenig, and Gulec are amazing characters."
See. at least one person likes and appreciates my totally different stories!
Please take a look at the published versions, you won't be disappointed.

Plugs aside, who else has an extra half stone to lose from the festive season? I have just gone out and bought a week's worth of healthy diet aimed stuff and with no chocs or cake left to tempt I might just shift a bit of it fast. Here's hoping anyway.

Was Santa good to you?
I hope he was nicer to you all than he was to me. BOTH my men let me down, big time.
The first parcel opened was from my son - a DVD of Frozen. The one thing I had said I would stuff down his neck if he got that - and I meant it at the time. I made do with emptying the paper bag over his head, his hair sparkled the whole day. Then I opened hubbie's smallest offering - Paco Rabbane Pour Homme!!!!! He spent quarter of an hour scouring the small room for the Red Door it should have been. I spent Christmas dinner giving both of them to silent treatment, I think they got the message. It does not do to annoy mum at Christmas lol
I have made one sale less of books this year - a whole plain zilch. Rats and more rats lol
Now looking forward to hospital clinic visit on the 30th, I have to get there for 9am and I am not a happy bunny about that at all. I hope to get the schedule for my permanent implant anyway.
And I want a far better 2015 than 14 has been! No horrid shocks anymore. Whether I celebrate New Years Eve remains to be seen, weather depending of course. I am an old wimp and not afraid to admit it.

Where is time going .....
Dearie me, I am surely becoming an old woman (yes, I know I AM one but I feel 20ish in my mind lol)
Too knackered after curry night out to sit and watch an old favourite film into the wee small hours, heavens - it was hard enough to make it up the stairs as it was!
Still waiting for EBay delivery, not quite a week late but knowing mail services are pushed not panicking yet. Dear son will just have to do without the matching teeshirt if it comes to it.
I have made up yet another shopping list, we have nearly nothing in that we will surely need. But apart from the turkey three days ahead (definitely no space in fridge) we cannot buy fruit and veg more than two days ahead of the 25th. Now the 20th and the small freezer still needs emptying of the c*** we have forgotten since last year (or more, I ashamedly admit). I want ice cream this year - the fridge will not do.
Trip to the care home tomorrow, an early Christmas giving for mum. She will not know the difference anyway.
Me? the usual aches and pains, as said I am well over the hill, looking forward to final op to make chest 'normal' again.
And as I in all honesty cannot see me finding the time to visit here again before the New Year -
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, PEACEFUL AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

There is still time ...
To order a paperback book that Santa can wrap for you. Still plenty of time to download a Kindle version.
Both series of mine are excellent and different reads (I am not the only one who says so either!)

Its December the what alread?!
Tempus fugit far, far too much fugit for my liking right now.
Merry Christmas to all my readers and Twitter followers (@toarshstories if you don't already know). Cards already coming in, I haven't quite finished writing/addressing yet.
First Christmas dinner tomorrow (lunch at least), followed by an ex-work night in and a large family curry night out week before the Big Day.
Are we all done shopping? I have restocked a few sweetie bits, slaps own wrists for eating, naughty naughty me. Just started wrapping while my two men are out of the way lol. My hubbie had a good laugh realising the hardest bit of the lights to put up was still in place from last year, I think we'll leave them there again. The window swag is a bit forlorn after losing its central holding nail. We can't get the ladder close enough to replace it.
